Sedona, Acadia & multiplayer
The app is a free download: the first two holes of Sedona are free to play. Sedona, Acadia & multiplayer is a one-time US $19.99 purchase (regional prices vary): all 18 holes of Sedona and Acadia, and playing with friends. Purchase through the app installed from Meta Horizon Store. Your purchase belongs to your Meta account: the game checks it each time it starts and each time a course loads, so it comes back by itself on any headset signed in to that account, without charging again. If the game could not reach Meta, connect to the internet and choose Try again on the unlock button. No subscription is required. After the free holes you can unlock Sedona, Acadia & multiplayer or go back to the main menu.
Playing on Quest
Before you play, clear the space around you and use the wrist straps.
- The tutorial: the first time you play, a controller in front of you on the first tee shows the throw, step by step, until you throw. Every throw counts, your first one too. To see it again, open Settings and choose Replay tutorial.
- Throwing: squeeze and hold either controller’s grip, or hold Y (left controller) or B (right controller), to take a disc. Reach back, swing toward the basket and let go. A slow release puts the disc down instead of throwing it. Show me a throw on the Controls card plays a throw in front of you.
- After a throw: choose Play it where it lies to move beside the disc, or Try again to take the throw back without counting it.
- Moving: push the left stick forward to aim a teleport and let go to move there. Push the right stick left or right to turn; the right stick never moves you.
- The panel: it floats on your left. Point at a button and pull the trigger. It has your discs and their throw power, the hole map, Go to hole, Scorecard, Controls, Settings and Multiplayer. To move the panels around you, point at the bar under the panel and hold the trigger.
- Settings: adjust how the disc sits in your hand; Movement switches the left stick between Teleport and Walk; Disc camera turns the window that follows your disc on or off; Distances switches between feet and metres; Replay tutorial; Main menu goes back to choosing a course; Exit VR leaves the game.
Playing with friends
Up to six players can play a course together, each on their own headset, from anywhere with an internet connection. Playing with friends comes with the one-time purchase.
- Host a group: on the main menu, choose Play multiplayer, then Host a group and a course. The group opens as the course starts: your six-digit code appears on the panel on your left, in the amber chip on its top line. Tell it to your friends. On a course, Multiplayer on the panel, then Host a group, does the same there.
- Join with a code: on the main menu, choose Play multiplayer, then Join a group. Type the host’s code on the keypad and choose Join. You move to the host’s course, starting on the hole the host is on. Already on a course, choose Multiplayer on the panel on your left, then Join a group.
- Playing: everyone plays their own round at their own pace; nobody waits for anyone. You see the other players and their throws, and the scorecard has a row for each player. Players are known by colour; there are no names and no voice or text chat, so talk in a Meta Horizon party or on a call if you like.
- Reporting and hiding a player: open Multiplayer and choose Report on the player’s row. Pick a reason and choose Send report; the report gives us the group code, the time, both players’ colours and the reason, and the player is not told. On the same page, Hide stops showing that player and their throws to you, and the host can Remove them from the group. You can also report through the Meta button: choose Report and mention the group code and the player’s colour.
- Leaving: Leave group on the Multiplayer panel leaves you playing on alone. When the host chooses End group or leaves the course, or your connection to the host is lost, the group ends: the host plays on, and everyone else still playing goes back to the main menu. A player whose round is over keeps their scorecard.
If joining fails: “No group has that code” means the code is wrong or the host has ended the group; a group is full at six players. If you cannot reach a group, check your connection and try again; some networks block direct connections, and the game then connects through a relay. If the game says your versions are different, close the game and open it again on both headsets to update it. Joining from the free trial is not available.
Internet and storage
Connect to the internet at launch to verify purchase ownership and receive updates. Game assets are cached to reduce repeat downloads; cached files alone do not unlock play. Clearing browser data removes downloaded content, but not your purchase: it belongs to your Meta account and is found again the next time the game starts online.
Play data
The game shares play data (how you play, frame rate and errors) to help improve it; the first time you open it, it says so. Turning it off changes nothing in the game. To stop sharing, open Settings on the course panel and set Play data to Off: what your headset sent is deleted at once. Details are in the privacy policy.
